We LOVE teaching tricks, and we are very excited to get more teams involved in trick training with the new AKC Trick Title program.
This is an excellent class whether you want to test for the titles, compete in a variety of venues, improve your training skills, perform demos, entertain your family and friends, improve your bond with your dog, or just have some plain 'ol fun.
How it works.
The class is 5 weeks long. Unless you have previous certificates from Do More With Your Dog which are being grand fathered, you need to start at Novice and work your way through.
It is possible to achieve the highest level, in 6 weeks, if you have been trick training.
To title, you need to perform 10 tricks from each title list.
As you demonstrate in class that your dog can perform the trick, it gets checked off the list.
The top title, Performance Dog, needs to be video taped. We can make time in class for you to tape, or you can tape and send it on your own.
There is no extra fee for testing in class, but you do need to pay $20 per title to the AKC, and they also need to be registered with the AKC. You can do that for 1/2 price when you send in your title, and you do not have to have a pure bred dog.
Teaching foundation trick skills will prepare you to compete in RallyFree, Freestyle and Wag It Games. Tricks are an excellent foundation for all dog sports, especially agility.
We can't wait to work with you!
